Miami Dolphins front office is awfully quiet after regime change
By Brian Miller
The Miami Dolphins are an awfully quiet team this year and that is stark contrast to years past under previous front office executives.
In years past there was always something brewing and while the Miami Dolphins never came out and said, “hey we are targeting that guy” instead they made loud splashes with their signings and some surprises in the draft. That is not the case this year where Chris Grier and Brian Flores are talking but they are keeping everything internal.
While exciting to learn of leaks and speculation from media hounds and even bloggers who pretend to have people on the inside, the fact is this year is quite satisfying. The fact no one really knows what they are planning to do with the draft or in other areas of the team through free agency is a nice change.
It almost makes you wonder if they know what they are doing.
At the owners meeting today in Arizona, Stephen Ross talked to the media and said that his team is focused on rebuilding the right way. He said that he told Brian Flores during the interview process that “this is what we want to do. How do you feel about that?”. Ross also said that he believes the Dolphins are the best franchise in the NFL but need to be the best on the field as well.
It is hard to not like Brian Flores but then you realize he has done absolutely nothing at the same time. He has not coached a single play or even a practice so while he speaks the togue fans want to hear, how all of this works out won’t be known for a year, two, or maybe more.
For now Dolphins fans can take some comfort in knowing that the silence, is kind of bliss right now.
