Montez Sweat is a first round talent that should hear his name called on day one of the NFL Draft but there is some reports that have him falling.

How far Montez Sweat might fall, if at all, is unknown. A heart condition was detected as the NFL Combine in February and he has since returned to have it rechecked but whatever the condition is, it isn’t public.

Now comes speculation that teams are dropping him off their board entirely. Yesterday Chris Kouffman reported the first of the speculation.

Sweat is stellar defensive edge rusher who is expected to go in the top 15 of next weeks draft but this medical could push him down in the first round. There is no rumors that he is on the Miami Dolphins radar anymore than he would be off their board at 13.

Without knowing what kind of heart condition he has there is no way to speculate on what precautions could be taken to keep him safe but there have been plenty of drafted players who have had medical concerns that were still drafted.

The fact that four teams are possibly taking him off their board is also a bit suspect given this time of year teams leak anything and everything to get a player to fall in their laps. The heart condition is legit but the thought of four teams taking him down may not be.

Sweat is still likely to go in the first round and if teams did take him off their board, they probably had no intention on drafting him in the first place.
