Miami Dolphins getting calls to trade back and they should take them

The Miami Dolphins want to get more draft picks and they may just get that chance. The question is will they make the move?

According to a report by Ian Rapoport, the Miami Dolphins are receiving calls about trading down. This is a common practice. One NFL source I spoke with earlier today explained that teams call all the time just to gauge interest and compensation. It is not something that is unusual.

Rapoport has a good reputation so there is likely phone calls being made. The question is who is making the calls to Miami? The next question is will they bite? Miami has been rumored to be looking for more draft picks both in this years draft and next years and this could provide the team with what they presumably have wanted.

Do not expect the Dolphins to make any moves prior to the draft. Any trade down is going to be contingent on a player being available for the team that wants him and the Dolphins not wanting a player at that spot. Chris Grier said there are five players that he would absolute not trade out of 13 to draft. If one falls, all bets on a trade are off.

As the draft approaches there is growing speculation that the Giants and Dolphins are both interested in acquiring Josh Rosen from the Cardinals and the Redskins are interested in moving up in front of the Giants to potentially draft Dwayne Haskins.

If that were to happen, the Giants could try to make a move for Rosen or draft another QB. Daniel Jones is also reported to be a target of the Redskins so that could also shake up the top of the draft. We will know tonight whent the first round unfolds.
