The Miami Dolphins are picking 13th and there have been a lot of mock drafts about who they will be picking. We decided to poll our contributors.

When the Miami Dolphins are on the clock later tonight, there are a lot of directions that the team can go including both sides of the line of scrimmage to a quarterback. We decided to poll our contributors to see who they would draft if the first round from picks 1-12 played out this way.

Using a draft simulator we narrowed down who might and might not be available when the Dolphins are on the clock. There was not trading of draft picks but many believe Miami should trade down. Here is the first twelve picks.

Kyler Murray
Josh Allen
Nick Bosa
Quinnen Williams
Devin White
Brian Burns
Ed Oliver
D.K. Metcalf
Greedy Williams
Jonah Williams
Dwayne Haskins

T.J. Hockenson

From there we asked our guys what they think that the Miami Dolphins will do with pick number 13.

Matt Stevens

I have made no secret that if the Dolphins get a decent offer to trade down they should do it.  While it’s tempting to select LB Devin Bush or OT Jawaan Taylor, if the Dolphins stay at 13, the player that makes the most sense is DT Christian Wilkins.  I like Ferrell but the depth at edge rusher is deeper than at defensive tackle so that need can probably wait till round 2 or three.  Wilkins fills an area of need, is the type of versatile player that Flores covets and there aren’t any character questions that plagued a couple of the other top players.

With the way the board has fallen so far, Miami finds itself in the perfect scenario to move back and pick up a few more picks in a draft with some quality depth. Let’s assume, however, that Miami’s war room has a guy they want at 13 and will make their pick.

There are a few options at 13 to really think about. Drew Lock is not one of them. If Miami were to trade back a few spots then maybe I’d consider Lock, but at 13, Miami needs to pick one of the best players available. For me, I’m looking at Jawaan Taylor out of Florida, Montez Sweat from out of Mississippi State and Devin Bush out of Michigan. If I’m the Dolphins, and I’m comfortable with the heart condition, I’m taking Montez Sweat. With no real proven pass rushers on the roster (looking at you Harris), Miami could use a guy that can get to the quarterback. Sweat might be one of those cornerstone pieces of the new Brian Flores defense. But let’s be honest, if Miami walked away with any of the three players mentioned, they’d pick up a quality player who can contribute right away.
