Miami Dolphins MLB team all-stars, if of course the Dolphins were baseball
By Brian Miller
No baseball game will start until the skipper turns in the lineup. We are not going to skip this part either. Placement of hitters is as important as who you put on the field just like in football.
Lead-off: Albert Wilson – His speed can overcome an infield grounder and getting the first guy on base is imperative.
2nd – Kiko Alonso – A solid single hitter who could potentially get the ball in the outfield gaps with a liner.
3rd – Xavien Howard – Howard is another player that can make the connection and advance the base runners with the power to get the ball out of the park.
Clean-up – Minkah Fitzpatrick – He is home run threat on the football field, one in the outfield, and at the bat. Bases loaded? Fitzpatrick can clear them.
5th – Bobby McCain – a suitable option to bring in the remaining base runners or add another runner to the base paths. McCain will be able to make contact with the ball and put it into play.
6th – DeVante Parker – Parker might be reliable on the field but his bat probably lacks a bit. He only needs to put the ball in play and let the speed of any runners on the bags beat out the grounder.
7th – Jerome Baker – His bat is important as he can get the ball in play and sets up the bottom of the order to make the swing to the top.
8th – John Denney – Not a big bat but a single hitter with consistency that sets up the DH
9th – Kenny Stills – Stills has the power to get the ball to the track and the speed to beat out the double play ball. He provides a solid opportunity to make the line-up turn with a runner on base for the top of the order.
