The Miami Dolphins held their daily head coach press conference with Brian Flores meeting with the media and he said a lot, without saying anything.

If there is on era of this new Miami Dolphins regime that is clearly taking place, it is that the Dolphins are not going to give anything away if they don’t have to. Welcome to the “Patriots Way”.

Brian Flores is a lot more personable at the podium than his former boss, Bill Belichick. Maybe over time and losses that will change but for now he is at least communicating with more than grunts and one or two words.

Regardless of how Flores approaches the media, he still isn’t saying too much. You know, that whole “competitive edge” thing. Today Flores answered questions on a few topics but his answers were a bit open ended, and that is a good thing.

When asked about Raekwon McMillan, Flores said he is making his way back. Said it is not a lack of work that is keeping him from getting back. That’s pretty much it.

Asked about the future of Kenny Stills and Kiko Alonso, Flores said that players “need to worry about today”. So the future of Stills and Alonso will remain floating around the landscapes of social media rumors and speculation.

T.J. McDonald‘s release was also addressed with Flores saying only that while he produced for the Dolphins, he, in essence, wasn’t a fit. “…at the end of the day, it just wasn’t the right fit.”

No other question seems to be asked more than who will be starting at quarterback. Today Flores said that General Manager Chris Grier has a lot of “input” into who will be the starting quarterback and that the two of them talk daily. They also talk daily about trades possibilities.

Welcome to the new Miami Dolphins where you need to do a good job of reading between the lines!  It’s a good way to approach the media don’t you think?
