The Miami Dolphins will be lucky to win one or two games this year on their way to a top-five draft pick at worst. They should trade DeVante Parker.

DeVante Parker has not been a great player for the Miami Dolphins and chances are he never will be. He could use a change of scenery. Jason La Canfora is reporting that the 49’ers are in the market for a wide-receiver ahead of the trade deadline and frankly, trading Parker would make sense.

Parker is on a team-friendly two-year deal which means that the 49’ers will not have to give him a new contract immediately. He is also having a decent season for the Dolphins this year. As much as decent can be with the way the Dolphins are playing on offense.

Parker has a lot of upside and potential, that is what we keep hearing from Dolphins brass but the reality is he needs a fresh start somewhere else to get his mind right. A talented receiver coming out of college, the Dolphins loved when he fell in their laps on draft day.

Injuries have plagued most of his seasons in Miami. From nagging injuries to an early foot injury that saw him miss portions of his rookie season, Parker has had to battle the physical and the mental issues that come with them.

The trade deadline is October 29th and Miami could get decent value for Parker, mid-round pick seems about right but a third is not out of the question. While La Canfora says that the 49’ers are looking to make a move, other teams are as well but San Francisco makes a lot more sense.

In a season that has seen the Dolphins move on from a lot of players, moving on from Parker makes sense as well.
