Mike Gesicki has been dogged by the fan base for a season and a half now after being the Miami Dolphins 2nd round pick in 2018. Finally, he is being used.

Last weekend, Miami Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki posted the best stats of his two-year career when he caught three passes for 51 yards. On Sunday, he did better.

Gesicki caught four passes for 41 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Bills. He also caught a 25-yard pass that was called back on a holding penalty. On another play, he drew a hold on an intended pass.

Mike Gesicki is far from what fans had hoped for when he was drafted by the Dolphins are finding ways to get him involved and they need to continue to do that. He has great hands and his route running is getting better as well.

On Sunday he caught a pass while falling away from the ball and another late that he went over defenders to get.

The development of Gesicki is important as Miami rebuilds its team. He can be an anchor for the next few years as Miami gets better talent at quarterback and offensive line through free agency and the draft next season.

The positives are that we get to finally talk about what Gesicki may be able to bring to the team after the disappointment in his rookie season. Many blamed Adam Gase for those problems and maybe he was to blame at least partially. Under Chad O’Shea, the expectations are higher. O’Shea had the stellar Rob Gronkowski in New England, so many believed that he would know how to use Gesicki. So far that hasn’t been the case but nothing with the Dolphins offense has worked this year.

Maybe this is a sign of things to come for the young tight end. Two weeks with solid numbers is promising to say the least.
