Miami Dolphins continue their first-half dominance at halftime
By Brian Miller
The Miami Dolphins are not making part of their fan base very happy and they are thrilling the other half. Once again, Miami leads at the half.
The Miami Dolphins are not a very popular team when it comes to winning football games or predicting them to win but don’t tell them that. This whole “tanking” thing? Not in their vocabulary and as they get better, they continue to keep themselves in position to win.
Over the course of the last nine weeks the Dolphins have done a great job of owning the first half of their games. As the Dolphins head to halftime with a 10 point lead, here is a look at what they have done since week one of the season.
Week 2: The Dolphins defense held the Patriots to just 13 points
Week 3: Miami holds the Cowboys to a 10-6 lead
Week 4: Miami trails Los Angeles Chargers 17-10
Week 6: Dolphins down by four, 7-3, to the Redskins
Week 7: Dolphins lead the Bills 16-9
Week 8: Dolphins lead the Steelers 14-10
Week 9: Dolphins lead the Jets 21-12
Week 10: Dolphins lead the Colts 10-0
The Dolphins are 1-2 in games this year that they have led at half-time. The fourth quarter has been their worst this year but the problems tend to begin late in the third.
Miami needs to come out and play hard the remaining 30 minutes today and walk away with their second win.
Miami has forced a turnover and Ryan Fitzpatrick scored the Dolphins only touchdown on a 10 yard run. Today’s game isn’t making the “Tank for Tua” campaign leaders very happy. Especially given the fact that both the Jets and Falcons won today. A win today would put Miami two games off of the Bengals in the chase for the number one overall pick, but reality says that the Bengals will lock it up. They haven’t looked good at all the last few weeks.
