Xavien Howard

Drafted in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Xavien Howard has become the Dolphins lockdown corner. He has all the qualities teams want in a top secondary player. If not for injuries, Howard likely would be higher on this list.

In his four seasons so far, Howard has one Pro Bowl appearance, 2018, and has 12 interceptions. One of which was for a touchdown. Howard is not targeted often on game days but he has posted impressive tackle numbers. 140 in four years, 108 solo.

In 2019, Howard spent most of his time dealing a knee injury and eventually landed on injured reserve but the Dolphins have him locked up for the foreseeable future after signing him to an extension last off-season.

The Dolphins need to find a suitable player to play on the opposite side of the field and if they can, Howard’s production will only get better.
