When you look back at the last ten years, the linebacker position has been a problem. Not as bad as the quarterback, but still pretty bad. Most of the issues here dealt with coaches not being able to deliver on the talent that was given them.

Players like Danelle Ellerbe should have become Pro Bowl quality players but they never really fit the schemes that Miami was running and became players that were round being stuck into square holes.

This list is tough to compile because a guy like Raekwon McMillan who is having a very good season this year, probably has as much right to be considered as say, Karlos Dansby who could have been a Hall of Fame talent if used the right way. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen enough of McMillan or Jerome Baker. We are however assuming that this decades team will be coached the right way.

Karlos Dansby: He was really good before coming to Miami and was really good after he left but he wasn’t used properly. Still, he had a solid few years with the Dolphins that sadly could have been a lot better, and longer.

Channing Crowder: If there was one thing that stood out about Crowder was that his effort never waned and while he only played one season this past decade I would gladly take him final banged up season over most of the linebackers Miami used.

Kiko Alonso: Say what you want but Alonso was all-go no-stop when he was on the field. He played to the whistle and a few times after it. While he was a liability in coverage, his athleticism made up for it.

Koa Misi: I was never a huge fan of Misi but I respect what he brought to the team and he was getting a lot better when his neck injury ruined his career.
