The Miami Dolphins would have had a stellar defense over the past decade, at least along the defensive front and especially the secondary. The two of them would have made up for the linebacker woes.

The corners may have seen its share of issues over the years but if we could combine the players it would have been an awesome display of talent.

Xavien Howard: As a pure talent on the edge, Howard may be the closest thing to a shutdown corner that the Dolphins have had this decade and it really isn’t close.

Brent Grimes: Putting Brent Grimes opposite of Xavien Howard would solve the boundary in the Dolphins secondary. Despite the issues with Grimes’ other half, on the field for Miami, he was fantastic.

Sean Smith: This is hard to predict here but Smith, in my opinion, was more consistent and versatile than Vontae’ Davis and on this team, I’m moving Smith into the nickel role so I can move him around.

Safeties

Reshad Jones: For the better part of the decade, Reshad Jones has been keeping the deep secondary on lock. His coverage ability is good but his ability to support the run has been phenomenal. This is likely his last year with the Dolphins.

Yeremiah Bell: Could you imagine a safety tandem of Bell and Jones? It happened in 2011 when Jones was a rookie but the two never got to mature together.
