6.  12/16/18  Minnesota Vikings 41  Miami Dolphins 17

Coming off the “Miami Miracle” win versus the New England Patriots the Dolphins, and their fans, were on such an emotional high.  That all came crashing down quickly in Minnesota the following week.

QB Ryan Tannehill was sacked 9 times (a new team record) while Vikings running backs Dalvin Cook and Latavius Murray combined for 34 rushes, 204 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Vikings cruised to an easy victory.

Minkah Fitzpatrick‘s 50 yard ‘pick 6’ and Kenyan Drake‘s 75 yard touchdown run were the only positive notes in an otherwise dismal December contest.

5.  11/11/12  Tennessee Titans 37  Miami Dolphins 3

This game was a total mismatch from the start as the Titans scored three touchdowns in the first 16 minutes of the game.  Titans QB Jake Locker went 9 of 21 for 122 yards but threw 2 TDs while Chris Johnson rushed 23 times for 126 yards (9.4 yards a carry)!

Offensively, the Dolphins managed 271 yards of total offense with Tannehill throwing 3 INTs (one a “pick six”) meaning that the Dolphins offense gave up more points (6) than they scored (3).

4.  9/30/16  New England Patriots 38  Miami Dolphins 7

Entering the game, the Dolphins were 3-0 and leading the AFC East while the Pats were 1-2 after back-to-back losses.  It’s safe to say that both the team and the fans were “feeling themselves” entering this early AFC East contest.

When the game was over, the Patriots had rushed for 175 yards and two scores while Brady threw for 274 yards and 3 TDs (albeit with 2 INTs as well.)

Meanwhile, the Dolphins offense was stymied for most of the game.  The Dolphins totaled 191 yards in total offense and only a “garbage-time TD” scored by  RB Frank Gore stopped this game from being a shutout.

This game would start a stretch where the Dolphins would lose 4 of the next 5 games and would result in the end of the Adam Gase era in Miami.
