5.  9/28/14  Miami Dolphins 38  Oakland Raiders 14

The Dolphins came in having been blown out the previous two weeks, by the Bills and Chiefs respectively.  There were rumors that QB Ryan Tannehill might be benched with the bye coming up the next week.

Instead, the Dolphins went to London and dismantled the Oakland Raiders.  After the Raiders took the opening kickoff 74 yards for a 7-0 lead, the Dolphins went on to score the next 38 points of the game.

For the game, Tannehill completed 23 of 31 (74%) for 278 yards and 2 TDs while also rushing 5 times for 35 yards.  Meanwhile, the Dolphins “RB-by-committee” rushed 26 times for 124 yards and two scores.  The Dolphins defense even got into the action via a Cortland Finnegan 50-yard “scoop and score” in the third quarter.

What made this game special:  Forcing 4 turnovers is something rarely done by a Dolphins defense.  Meanwhile, after his performance, there was no more ‘bench Tannehill’ talk.

4.  11/2/14  Miami Dolphins 37  San Diego Chargers 0

Tannehill went 24 of 34 for 288 yards and 3 touchdowns while rushing for another 47 yards.  Combine that with 85 yards by the running backs and the Dolphins amassed 441 yards of total offense.

Defensively, the Dolphins were all over the Chargers from the opening kickoff.  The defense picked off Chargers QB Phillip Rivers three times and gave up only 198 yards of total offense on the day.

What made this game special:  It’s probably the most ‘complete’ game played by the Dolphins in the decade; as they dominated the Chargers on both sides of the ball for 60 minutes.
