Round 6 – (187 overall) – Saahdiq Charles, OT, LSU – See the pattern here?  Once again the Dolphins select an offensive lineman. Charles doesn’t have prototypical size as there aren’t many OTs in the NFL that are sub 300 pounds.  Charles comes in at 6’4” and 295 pounds. Again, Charles doesn’t come NFL ready but should certainly be considered a depth and development player. There is some potential here, as he is part of an offensive line at LSU that won the Joe Moore Award for the top unit in the nation.

Round 6 – (199 overall) – Trajan Bandy, CB, Miami – Bandy’s biggest issue will be his size.  He’s only 5’9” and 189 pounds but has been described as playing with the physicality and heart of a much larger person.  Bandy is likely a camp body at this point. (Mock 1.0 – Tuf Borland, LB, Ohio State)

Round 6 – (208 overall) – Tyler Johnson, WR, Minnesota – While wide receiver is not a need for the Dolphins, the talent here is just too good to pass up.  Johnson has been a very productive player for the Golden Gophers. In his junior season, he caught 78 balls for 1169 yards and 12 touchdowns. He followed that up with an 86 catch 1318 yard and 13 touchdowns senior season.  Johnson had a nice end to the season with a 12 catch 204 yards and 2 touchdown performance against Auburn in the Outback Bowl. A good combine performance could move Johnson up to a much earlier round. (Mock 1.0 – Jake Hanson, C, Oregon)

Round 7 – (245 overall) – Justin Strnad, LB, Wake Forest – Strnad lost a good part of this season to a torn bicep tendon.  Strnad was a tackling machine in his junior year. He recorded 105 total tackles (65 solo 40 assists). He was on pace to surpass those totals before getting injured.  Strnad is an athlete that could find a role on special teams to start while learning the NFL game.
