Marcus Mariota –  26 years old – Ryan Tannehill – 32 years old

Marcus Mariota is set to be a free agent and so is Ryan Tannehill. We can rule out a return of Ryan Tannehill. The Dolphins would have to throw a ton of money to convince him to return to the Dolphins after they literally paid the Titans to take him off their hands.

Mariota was once a number two overall draft pick by the Titans but he has never come close to delivering on that potential. In 2019, Mariota was replaced by Tannehill and the Titans came within one victory of Super Bowl LIV.

Mariota is not going to land a starting job in 2020 without having to earn it and he isn’t going to be paid a starter’s salary. Given the fact that he has struggled in his career, he makes no sense for the Dolphins even as competition for any other QB that the Dolphins would have on their roster, including a rookie.

Tannehill is likely going to remain in Tennessee and again, there is no chance he would return to the Dolphins.
