Jameis Winston – 26 years old

Winston’s time in Tampa Bay may or not be over as the Buccaneers can still keep him on the 5th year option. He has been unimpressive during his NFL career. Another top draft pick who has not panned out, Winston’s biggest problem is that he is wildly inconsistent.

There is a good chance that Winston hits the market this year especially if Philip Rivers lands in Tampa Bay. The question is will anyone really want to bring him on as anything but a back-up? I would lean towards thinking the answer is no.

Consider that the top teams looking for a QB are the Dolphins, Bengals, Panthers, Chargers, Titans, and maybe the Lions. None of those teams would be an ideal landing spot for Winston. Chances are Winston is going to land a back-up role wherever he goes and that includes staying in Tampa if the Buc’s add another veteran.

For the Dolphins, it would be a hard pass and wasted money. The Dolphins are far better served with drafting a QB for the future.
