Round 5 – (162 overall) – Jeremy Chinn, S, Southern Illinois – At 6’3” 219 pounds Chinn comes into the league with an NFL body.  Chinn has very good ball skills and isn’t afraid to tackle. The knock on Chinn is he sometimes becomes lost when he has to diagnose plays.  Chinn also possesses plus athleticism and excels when given a defined role thus not exposing his lack of field awareness. Chinn was a 2nd team Associated Press All-American in 2019 so it’s obvious the guy has some ability to work with.   (Mock 2.0 – Richard Lecounte III, S, Georgia)

Round 5 – (173 overall) – Jake Breeland, TE, Oregon – Breeland had moderate success at Oregon.  As a sophomore Breeland was an honorable mention on the Pac-12 All Conference Team. His play slipped his junior year.  Last year Breeland got off to a very good start catching 26 passes for 405 yards and six touchdowns in just six games. Unfortunately Breeland suffered a season ending knee injury.  Breeland comes to Miami as a project who could be a sneaky receiving option in two tight end sets. (Mock 2.0 – Cam Akers, RB, Florida State)

Round 6 – (185 overall) – Cam Brown, LB, Penn State – Cameron Brown is a guy that could find a contributing role in a Brian Flores defense.  Brown is a very athletic 6’5” 232 pounds which some may see as undersized for an NFL linebacker. Penn State used Brown in a multitude of positions.  At the Senior Bowl, Brown played edge rusher, inside linebacker as well as outside linebacker. Brown is described as raw but has some scouts drooling over his combination of size, speed, and playmaking ability.  With some refinement, Brown could be a tough matchup in Flores’ amoeba defense. (Mock 2.0 – Jon Runyan Jr. G, Michigan)

Round 6 – (197 overall) – A.J. Dillon, RB, Boston College – Dillon is a beast.  At 6’0” 250 pounds, defensive backs shudder when they see him hit the second level.  Although big, Dillon has good enough vision and finesse to keep him from carrying the label of just a power back.  He rushed for over a thousand yards in each of his three seasons at BC, including 1589 yards touchdowns as a freshman and 1685 yards as a junior.  He also has a nose for the endzone having reached double figures in touchdowns in all three of his seasons (14, 10, 14) Dillon was first team All ACC and third team Associated Press All American in 2019.   Paired with Swift, the Dolphins backfield immediately gets better. (Mock 2.0 – Saahdiq Charles, OT, LSU)

Round 6 – (202 overall) – McTelvin Agim, DT, Arkansas – Agim comes to the NFL as a project at defensive tackle.  Agim was a defensive end during his first three years for the Razorbacks. Agim has shown some flashes as he finished his career with 31 tackles for loss and 14.5 sacks.  Agim is a depth player who again could use his position flexibility as a rotational asset. (Mock 2.0 – Trajan Bandy, CB, Miami)

Round 7 – (246 overall) – David Dowell, S, Michigan State – As is the case with most 7th rounders, Dowell is another project at the NFL level.  He is another player who comes with good size for his position and is described as “long.” One NFL scout described him as the brains of the defense.  This is good as he is not known for his overall speed and quickness. Has enough length and athleticism to cover tight ends man to man. (Mock 2.0 – Tyler Johnson, WR, Minnesota)

Round 7 – (251 overall) – Aaron Fuller, WR, Washington – Fuller probably isn’t much more than a camp body.  His physique relegates him to the slot receiver position as he is only 5’10” and 187 pounds. Has some value as a punt returner as he averaged 11.4 yds per return last season including one for a touchdown.   (Mock 2.0 – Justin Strnad, LB, Wake Forest)
