Tristan Wirfs –  This Junior linemen from the Iowa Hawkeyes put an exclamation point on his resume at the combine. The 6′ 5″, 320-pound reigning Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the year did some very special things last Friday night at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine. Wirfs started by throwing up a 36.5 verticle jump and then a 10′ 1″ broad jump, which both were new Offensive Line NFL Combine records. Then the big fella ran a 40-yard dash in 4.86 seconds, with a 1.69 second 10-yard split.

Wirfs was already seen as one of the top linemen in this year’s draft, but now he has potentially catapulted himself into the top ten draft discussions. Wirfs absolutely crushed his combine performance and created a large amount of buzz for himself throughout the evening within team circles.

So, what does Tristan Wirfs bring as an NFL prospect to the field in action? Well according to analyst Lance Zierlein at NFL.com,

"Wirfs has tools to handle gap-blocking duties while thriving in outside zone. If Wirfs can learn to play inside out and add a more effective jump-set into his repertoire, he could take a big step forward. Consistency of play could take some time, but he has the ability to become a good starter at either right tackle or guard."

This would take some maneuvering by the Miami Dolphins but could be achieved by getting a little creative by trading their second pick and maybe a later pick to move up and select this athletic game-changing lineman that could ease the pain of trading Tunsil to Houston, besides the big savings of course.

This would be a welcome addition to the Miami Dolphins offensive line, it’s fanbase and most definitely would bolster their offensive line.
