Andrew Thomas – Another Junior linemen from the Georgia Bulldogs participated in the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine, but was outshined a bit by some of his peers.

Thomas did show up a little heavier than his normal playing weight but did have a solid performance. This 6′ 5″, 320-pound athlete posted a vertical jump of 30.5″ and ran a respectable 5.22 40 yard dash with a 1.83 split.

Thomas’s performance did not hurt his draft status and he is still considered one of the best tackles in this years draft, but Thomas just didn’t blow the roof off the stadium like some of the other guys did.

Andrew Thomas has been linked to the Miami Dolphins as a potential draft pick this year, but there are no guarantees. I would note that he might slip a little due to both his performance and some of the other linemen’s outstanding performances at this year’s NFL Scouting Combine. That being said he is still a most likely a 1st rounder.

Senior Draft analyst Jordan Reid of the draft network projects Thomas to go in the early to mid-first round and summarized his play by saying this,

"“Hands that are like vice grips, his best asset is the movement he’s able to generate on the first level prior to climbing to others. With a consistent anchor, he can also nail his feet in the ground to halt the process of rushers attempting to attack him down the middle. As a result, his current traits make him an ideal candidate to play either tackle spot and experience success quickly. He has the characteristics to eventually become a top 10-12 offensive tackle in the league with continued development”."

The Miami Dolphins would love to add this bookend to their line and would instantly upgrade the position at tackle. Thomas possesses great footwork and technique that you would expect out of an All-American and could add some much-desired durability to their current often injured offensive line.
