Pick #11  New York Jets:  Josh Jones, OT, Houston

A receiving target will be very tempting here but the fact is that the Jets offensive line was really “offensive” in 2019.  They couldn’t protect QB Sam Darnold or open holes for RB LeVeon Bell.

Jones is an ascending player who possesses the requisite skills to play tackle in this league for a long time.

Pick #12  Las Vegas Raiders:  Ceedee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma

The Raiders are moving to Las Vegas and need something to sell to the fan base.  The team is in the bottom half of the league in scoring offense and points allowed so they an infectious player to get fans excited.

I know the Raiders have historically loved speed, and Lamb’s 40-time didn’t impress, Lamb’s stats most certainly do.  With three different quarterbacks over his three year college career, Lamb never averaged less than 17.5 yards-per-catch and hauled in double-digit touchdowns in his final two seasons. Stats courtesy of Sports-Reference.com

Pick #13  Indianapolis Colts:  Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon

If trades were allowed, Indy is probably making this pick in the first 8 selections but, with no trades, Herbert falls to them here.

Herbert’s stock has continued to rise since the season ended.  He was voted MVP of the Senior Bowl game and lit it up at the combine.

With that said, Herbert has alot of the tools needed to succeed in the NFL but he has lacked consistency and his coach never seemed to trust Herbert enough to put the game in his hands at crucial moments (Auburn game from 2019 comes to mind).  Getting selected by Indy will give Herbert everything he needs to succeed; an good offensive line, two ‘live’ wide receivers and a blossoming pair of tight ends.

Pick #14  Tampa Bay Buccaneers:  K’Lavon Chaisson, Edge, LSU

The Bucs were pretty good rushing the passer last year but most of their front seven are free agents (Suh, Nassib, Pierre-Paul).  Even if they franchise Barrett, they will need pass rush help.

Chaisson has been a bit injury-prone so far in his career but he possesses all the tools needed to potentially put up double-digit sack numbers for years to come.

Pick #15  Denver Broncos:  Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama

With last year’s trade of Emmanuel Sanders, the ‘cupboard’ is pretty bare at wide receiver.  Besides Courtland Sutton, there isn’t a proven WR on the roster right now.

Jeudy is widely considered the most ‘polished’ WR in this class and would be a great ‘security blanket’ opposite the speedy Sutton.  At one time, Jeudy was considered a potential top five pick.  For him to last this long would be a major stroke of luck that could work out in Denver’s favor.
