Looking at the first round of the NFL Draft post free agency start
By Brian Miller
16: Atlanta Falcons: While Matt Ryan isn’t getting any younger they still have some more football left in him so it would be surprising if they drafted his replacement now. More likely another receiver, a tight end, offensive lineman, or running back as DeVonta Freeman was released. Of course, they could also try to shore up the holes on defense.
17: Dallas Cowboys: The Boyz franchised Dak Prescott and now will look towards getting hin under a longer-term deal but they need to draft an offensive lineman and fix the defensive side of the ball.
18: Miami Dolphins: IF the Dolphins waited to draft a QB they should still find one here if the Patriots don’t move up. If they draft one at five or the QB’s are gone, they won’t likely reach and will look to round two for that QB. The attention will likely shift to safety where Grant Delpin could be a target or they could go offensive line or running back.
Miami could also look to move further down from here if they have the QB they wanted at five. The Dolphins are coveting draft picks so either this pick or the one at 26 will be gone to another team as the Dolphins add more picks this year and maybe next year as well.
This is where we will stop for now. The rest of the draft should shake out with only the Patriots really looking to draft a quarterback. They could end up with Jordan Love, Jalen Hurst, or Jake Fromm at 23rd depending on how the front of this draft. pans out.
