18. player. 59. . Safety. Miami Dolphins. Grant Delpit

It isn’t as flashy as say a running back, but Grant Delpit is the safety that the Miami Dolphins need to replace Reshad Jones. He has a great skill set that will be able to make the Dolphins secondary one of the best in the league.

The Dolphins no longer need cornerback help barring a move that involves Xavien Howard but they can’t go into the season with just Bobby McCain and Eric Rowe deep.

2019 was not a perfect year for Delpit but it was good enough. He posted 59 tackles and had two interceptions. He was one of the top defenders on the LSU defense. A junior, there is still a lot of growth left in Delpit and Brian Flores loves corners and safeties. Delpit could learn a lot and grow very quickly at this level under this system.

Versatile, Delpit can cover and support the run as well as playing both safety positions but he may need to “weight-up” to play strong safety. Some think that would be his more ideal NFL role.
