If Grant Delpit isn’t flashy, D’Andre Swift is. The Dolphins need a running back and while many believe Swift could be the target at 18, there is a good chance that given the NFL’s value on runners in this age of football, that Swift could fall to the end of round one.

Some mock drafts have Swift falling into round two but I don’t think that will be the case. I do however believe that he may be the only running back taken in round one.

At Georgia, Swift was very good. Versatile to play a variety of rolls equally, Swift can block, run, and catch passes although he will need to work on his routes better.

Swift has good but not game-breaking speed but he has very good vision and works the field well enough to create space. He needs to be more decisive at the line but it’s only a minor flaw at this point.

In 2019, Swift ran for 1,216 yards and seven touchdowns with 24 catches for another TD. He will likely spend his first season learning from Jordan Howard whom the Dolphins added in free agency as he splits carries and learns the NFL speed.
