No trades in this new 2020 Miami Dolphins two-round NFL mock draft
By Brian Miller
The Miami Dolphins need offensive line help and they did little to really address the needs in this year’s free agency. The Dolphins are going to need the draft to fix this problem.
Wilson is a big offensive tackle. He stands 6’6 and weighs 350 pounds and has really solid athleticism for his size. Not as good as Mechi Becton but Becton was off the board long ago. Some believe that Wilson would have improved his draft stock by staying at Georgia for another year but he decided to come out early.
A road grading run blocker, Wilson can hold the edge well blocking in the running game. Good footwork allows him to keep a good base against edge rushers and he is quick off the snap to hold the edge equally against quicker ends.
Wilson’s game is solid and well-rounded. At times he can play with a nasty streak that will be appealing to a lot of teams.
Stephen Ross loves his Michigan players and Ruiz could be on the Dolphins radar in the 2nd round. An athletic, well-rounded blocker in both the running game and passing game, Ruiz is a very good future starting center for the Dolphins.
Ruiz has the quickness and athleticism as well as the bulk to compete for one of the guard positions and this is where his value comes into play. With the addition of Ereck Flowers and the one-year deal for Ted Karras, the Dolphins can allow Ruiz to compete with Michael Dieter for one guard spot until Miami decides what to do at center long-term which should be starting Ruiz in 2021.
Ruiz is a three-year starter and could have returned to Michigan. He may have helped his draft stock by staying in school but a mid-2nd or early third still isn’t that bad for this kid.
