J.K. Dobbins Miami Dolphins
GLENDALE, ARIZONA – DECEMBER 28: J.K. Round 2 – (39 overall) – J.K. Dobbins, RB, Ohio State – If the various mock and draft simulation sites are accurate then this is almost a slam dunk. The Dolphins grab a young feature back here in the second round to pair with newly signed Jordan Howard. Dobbins is a true three-down running back. Dobbins possesses very soft hands which will make him another weapon in the passing game. Howard and Dobbins will give the Dolphins a very good one, two punch in the backfield.  Dobbins will need to improve his pass blocking as he enters the league. (Mock 3.0 – Lloyd Cushenberry, C, LSU)

Round 2 – (56 overall) – Jeremy Chinn, S, Southern Illinois – Chinn has above average athleticism for a safety.  At 6’3” 220 pounds, Chinn clocked a 4.4 in the 40 yard dash, while also putting up 20 reps in the bench press. Chinn is a very good tackler and possesses excellent ball skills.  The knock on Chinn is he doesn’t come into the league with a high football IQ, but with this coaching staff’s priority on the ability to teach, Chinn seems like the perfect fit. Chinn has been constantly moving up draft boards. Earlier mocks saw Chinn available as late as the 5th round. (Mock 3.0 – D’Andre Swift, RB, Georgia)

Round 3 – (70 overall) –  Isaiah Wilson, OT, Georgia – The Dolphins return to the offensive tackle position in round 3.  Once again size is constant here. Wilson is 6’7” and weighs 350 pounds. Wilson, like Becton, possesses above average mobility for an athlete his size.  Wilson’s weaknesses fall in the category of technique which are totally fixable. If the Dolphins could find two offensive tackles in this draft, then Jesse Davis could slide back to guard where he’s been more effective. (Mock 3.0 – Jonah Jackson, OG, Ohio State)
