Final PhinPhanatic 2020 NFL Mock Draft: Full first round with trades
By Brian Miller
Joe Douglas is running this draft for the Jets but you can snicker when you read that. Everyone knows this is all Adam Gase and Gase will pout and pitch a fit if he doesn’t get who he wants. The question is whether or not Gase wants an offensive lineman despite the fact that is one of the team’s biggest needs.
Honestly, I’m not sure what Gase would want here. He is an offensive mind who sits on the bench when the defense is on the field. He could very easily surprise everyone and draft one of the top wide receivers in this class but It is hard to pass on an impact athletic interior guy that will make the offense better.
There are more and more people thinking that the Raiders are going to trade up for a WR. If that doesn’t happen there are just as many that think the Broncos will try and trade up for one to get in front of them. That very well may happen but I’m not sure the Jets are going to move out and the Browns shouldn’t risk losing out on a top offensive tackle. Because of that, I think the Broncos don’t get in front of Las Vegas.
Ruggs is considered the best of the class by some but it is not by a big margin. In fact, this pick easily could be Jerry Jeudy instead.
No other team in this draft needs draft picks more than the 49’ers. They have two first-round picks but then take day two off as they wait for the mid-rounds. A trade with the Broncos makes a lot of sense for both teams and the 49’ers will see action now on day two.
The Broncos want and need a receiver and Jeudy will make the Mile-High fans very happy. He is weapon for Drew Lock and should slide in nicely with the Broncos.
The Buccaneers have needs but there biggest need BY FAR is protecting their 43-year-old quarterback Tom Brady. Nothing right now makes any more sense than finding that protection. As a Dolphins fan, you probably hope they don’t and watch him get hit all year.
The 49’ers need corner help and this trade made a lot of sense for them. They get one of the top corners in the draft. If the Falcons draft Henderson as some believe, Okudah could actually fall if he doesn’t go the Lions at six. Henderson has been climbing draft boards lately and the chatter is not simply smoke.
