WEEK 10, 11, and 12 – The New York Jets

In what is an interesting twist to the Dolphins and Jets schedules, the team will face off against each other back-to-back. The twist here is that both teams will play against each other, have their bye week and then face each other again.

The Jets are an enigma. Adam Gase is a coach that can destroy the make-up of a team or build it up. He literally is a Jekyll and Hyde type of head coach.

New York didn’t make as big of a splash as most expected in free agency but they nailed their draft and if coached properly, the Jets could be a team that surprises a lot of people. Of course, we can’t discount the fact that Gase is the coach.

In the first meeting, the Jets will visit the Dolphins and of course, Miami will head north two weekends later. Will the games be split? It is very possible and frankly, these teams match up really well on paper.

Sam Darnold is inconsistent and it will be interesting to see how he has developed over the last year. He enters his third NFL season and has not yet reached his draft potential. Gase is supposed to be the “QB whisperer” but we haven’t seen it yet.

The Jets focused a lot of attention on their offensive line this past off-season including several mid-tier free agents and one of the top draft prospects, Mekhi Becton.

PREDICTION: It would be easy to predict Miami winning both of these games and it would be easy to predict the Jets winning both games. I feel it is a copout to say they will split. Unfortunately, that is a very good possibility given the make-up of both teams.
