Kalen Ballage is the best running back on the Dolphins roster.

It amazes me how often I hear how bad Kalen Ballage is and to be quite honest, I haven’t exactly been kind to him in previous articles either. His play last year wasn’t good but was it Ballage or was it the offensive line? Was it combination of the two?

It is not like Patrick Laird did much better when he was inserted into the offense but he looked better. That being said, there are still fans who think that Ballage is the best running back on the roster. Of course, they are probably fans of his college team or maybe his family.

I’m not dissing or making fun of Ballage, he is a hell of a lot better runner than I am, seriously though, he looked much better in 2018 and the offensive line was gutted last year. Considering the top rusher for the Dolphins last year was Ryan Fitzpatrick, the offensive line needs to take a lot of heat for what happened last season and Ballage was noticeably not the up and coming running back many thought he would be.

When the Dolphins traded Kenyan Drake to the Cardinals, it was supposed to be time for Ballage to shine but instead, he faltered bad. He will have a lot of competition in camp this year and will see a serious drop in opportunities and may not make the roster. If he doesn’t, those posting how great he can be will have to wait until he lands on another team or in another league to thump their chests.
