5 Miami Dolphins players that could regress in 2020
By Brian Miller
Preston Williams will need to impress the Miami Dolphins again this off-season.
Last year Preston Williams was an incredible find for the Dolphins. His OTA and mini-camp sessions were fantastic but his training camp was even better. So much so that by the time the season rolled around, Williams was starting as the Dolphin number two wideout.
Like Howard, Williams suffered an injury that put him on IR. With an entire season lost due to the injury, Williams will basically enter the 2020 season as a rookie with a lot to prove, including that he can recover from that injury without loss of speed or mental acuity.
Williams has a lot of good things ahead of him but he could regress from what we saw last season. The Dolphins are expecting him to return to his promising form. They made little off-season changes to the wide receiver group which puts Williams in line for the starting job opposite DeVante Parker, if he can get back to the form he showed last year.
If he can, and he is expected to, Williams could become a long-term solution for the Dolphins and eventually give Tua Tagovailoa a seasoned and impressive receiver to work with.
