Mike Gesicki showed signs of his development last year with the Miami Dolphins.

While the 2019 season started to look really good for the development of Mike Gesicki, there is no guarantee that his future progress will continue in 2020 and a regression in his production may indeed happen.

The biggest question comes in the form of new offensive coordinator Chan Gailey. Gailey has never had a tight end with as much talent as Gesicki and maybe that is one reason Gailey may not have used his TE’s all that much at his previous stops.

Gesicki should take big steps forward instead and fans and coaches alike expect him to. That being said, those expectations may be unreasonable and instead, the small amount of progress made last year could see an early season regression instead.

The good news is that I fully expect to see Gesicki get better as the year moves on but at the start of the season we may see some frustration as fans while he adjusts to the change in system and Gaiely gets comfortable with Gesicki as a go-to option in the passing game.

Unlike the other four mentioned, Gesicki, in my opinion, has the most upside this year and potential, it’s a thought that others share as well which is exactly why he is on this list. The expectations are simply too high right now.
