Some Miami Dolphins corners will have the benefit of experience.
Ryan Lewis
Bio
For his first three seasons at the University of Pittsburgh, Lewis saw the field sparingly; with just 24 tackles and no passes defended or interceptions. Things changed in his senior season where he logged 79 tackles and came up with crucial interceptions against both Penn State and Clemson.
After being undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft, Lewis bounced from the Arizona Cardinals practice squad to the Patriots during the 2017 season.
After playing in 7 games (3 starts) in 2018 with the Buffalo Bills, Lewis was cut in the spring of 2019.
He was signed and played in 3 games with the Indianapolis Colts last season before being waived and signed by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Like Brooks and Hayes, mentioned earlier, Ryan Lewis was signed by the Dolphins around midseason when injuries hit. He played in 8 games with Miami and logged his first career interception.
Expectations
If Lewis makes it through training camp with the Dolphins he might get the chance to play two consecutive years with the same team. The odds are stacked against him in what is shaping up as a crowded secondary. If Lewis has proven one thing, however, it’s that he has a knack for making himself useful to whatever team he plays for. Special teams may be his ticket to making the roster.
