Jordan Howard and Matt Breida could become the Miami Dolphins next great RB duo.

There was Larry Csonka and Jim Kiick and then a long pause before we got Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown. Howard and Breida should fall somewhere in between them but a lot needs to happen before that can, actually happen.

Both are on short term deals. Breida is on a one-year deal and Howard is on a two-year deal. Those contracts don’t align with both getting longer commitments from the Dolphins but it could happen if they both can combine for a stellar season.

Heading into training camp, these two are going to be an exciting duo to watch. Both alone could make the Dolphins running back group better but together they could make them great. The good news is both running backs are still young and while neither has had out of this world league-leading careers to this point, they could take a big leap on the Dolphins in 2020.

When camp begins, fans won’t likely get much on how either are really doing because practices are non-contact for almost all of camp. Chances are we will have to wait to see how they are doing once the season begins but absorb what you hear from the media over the next month, it should build that excitement.
