Defensively, the best versatile players are in the Miami Dolphins secondary.

On the defensive side of the ball, you can never have enough quality defensive backs. The ability to have depth at the corner position is essential, but also having guys that can play the deep safety to call out coverages and alignments is particularly essential. Miami has picked up a few guys last year, and this year that can play Free Safety for the 2020 Miami Dolphins.

Byron Jones played safety for his initial three years for the Dallas Cowboys. He did not shift to Corner until 2018.

Bobby McCain transitioned to safety last season and has visibly bulked up to play the part this offseason.

Adrian Colbert and Steven Parker were picked up last year and played well down the stretch.

Brandon Jones was selected in round 3 of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Many corners will also be relied upon if players are moved to the COVID-19 reserve list. It is most important to have guys that can play out wide and cover the talented receivers that seem to be on every team after a deep draft class at the receiver position.

Xavien Howard is a Pro Bowl Corner.

Byron Jones is a Pro Bowl Corner and 2018 second team all-pro.

Noah Igbinoghene was our 2020 1st round pick.

Nik Needham played most of the 2019 season as the No. 1 Corner.

Eric Rowe started 17 games at Corner before being converted to covering Tight ends in 2019.

After an offseason where it seemed the Miami Dolphins overstocked on defensive backs, They may have just set the new normal for a contending team in the era of COVID-19. Ensuring they will have guys available every week to play Corner and play deep Safety to keep the defensive backfield lined up and the correct coverage is called.
