Xavien Howard – CB

It is hard to say that Xavien Howard is overrated but if we really look at the hype versus his production including the injuries he has dealt with, we would not be doing any of these players justice by leaving him off.

Howard has the tools to be great. In fact, he could be one of the best in the entire league but he has to be consistent when he is on the field and with his injury situations.

We can’t knock a player for being injured but at the same time we can’t say that a player is great when he can’t be on the field. Last year he played in a total of five games and the year before that he missed four. Howard has only played one full season in the NFL since being drafted in 2016.

Yet for all the missed time and the one full season, we call him a ball-hawking shutdown corner and that is a little much.

What makes Howard standout is that in his 40 games played, he has 35 passes defensed and 12 interceptions. He even added a touchdown as well. Howard could very well become elite and he has shown that he has that potential but he hasn’t taken that step yet because injuries have hindered him.

With Byron Jones on the opposite side this year, maybe we see him take a big leap that will reach the level that we have put him in.
