Shaq Calhoun – offensive line

Undrafted in 2019, Calhoun was thrown into a mess with one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL and one of the worst in Dolphins history. Still, Calhoun wasn’t all of the problem, only a part of it.

In 2019, Calhoun appeared in 10 of 16 games but that wasn’t because of injury. The Dolphins were trying to find the right mix and players shuffled all over the line through camp and the season. Calhoun eventually settled in.

Calhoun started seven of those ten games and even recovered a fumble in one of those contests. He played the right guard position and while he will see considerable competition this year, he will have a shot at the starting job.

Miami invested in the offensive line this off-season with Ereck Flowers penciled in at left guard which means Michael Dieter could slide to the right side. They drafted Robert Hunt who can play guard and tackle, and they drafted Solomon Kindley as well. Add into this a player who also is on this list and there will be a lot of players vying for one starting spot on the right side.

Calhoun doesn’t have this on lock but he could very well shock a lot of people and earn that spot. If he does, he very well might keep it the entire season and beyond.
