The five most underrated Miami Dolphins heading into 2020
By Brian Miller
Jesse Davis – offensive line
Jesse Davis is the Miami Dolphins Mr. Versatility when it comes to the offensive line. He can play right tackle, right guard, left guard, and yes he is taking some reps at center in camp this year. Yet no one really gives him much thought.
Davis isn’t going to wow anyone with his play. He isn’t going to suddenly become a pancake blocker. He isn’t going to become a Pro Bowl player and he is surely not a future Hall of Fame player but he is consistent, reliable, and plays all the positions well enough to start or add depth.
And through all of it, he gets little respect from the Dolphins fanbase.
The Miami Dolphins offensive line has gone through considerable changes each year but Davis is the only offensive lineman that remains from 2018 or beyond. That isn’t saying much considering that was only two seasons ago but it does show that the coaching staff trusts him.
Davis has a future with the Dolphins and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him put in a 10-year career without ever getting the cred he deserves for his versatility and team-first attitude. Davis is definitely one of the more underrated players on the Dolphins roster.
