Wide Receivers vs Defensive Backs –  For this article, I’ll include running backs with their expanded role in passing.  Julian Edleman and N’Keal Harry remain in the receiving unit.  The running backs stay the same with Sony Michel, James White, and Rex Burkhead.   Michel has been the most productive running back, with 326 yards and three touchdowns in four games against the Dolphins while Julian Edelman in 15 games against the Dolphins has 894 yards and six touchdowns.

The defensive secondary has undergone one of the biggest if not the biggest overhauls of any position group on the Dolphins.  Xavien Howard, Bobby McCain, and Eric Rowe have all had decent success against the Patriots, combining for 62 total tackles and five interceptions in games against the Patriots.  Newcomers Byron Jones, Noah Igbinoghene, and Brandon Jones all look to add extra dimensions and attack aspects to defend against any gameplans the Patriots could bring in the week one matchup.

Edge – Dolphins secondary.  With the past success as well as the new additions, the secondary should be able to at the very least minimize the effect of the receivers and running backs of the Patriots.
