Ryan Fitzpatrick

Whatever Fitzpatrick’s problems were last week, the Dolphins can’t afford to watch him play the same way again this week. If they do, it won’t matter what anyone else on the roster does or does not do. Miami will lose.

Fitzpatrick didn’t look as good as some in the media want you to believe. His stats were not impressive when you compare them to the game situations and when you look at the game situations, you have to look at the time he had in the pocket and what he did what that time. Sorry, it wasn’t impressive and last week Fitzpatrick looked like a 40-something-year-old quarterback, and he is 37.

He has to play better because the alternative is an early-season throwaway as Miami would turn to Tua Tagovailoa who will be fun to watch but also not likely to lead Miami to wins early in the season.

Fitzpatrick is Miami’s leader on offense without question and not having DeVante Parker for part of last week hurt. Still, we are seeing the same Fitzpatrick that has hung around the NFL for a long time but that same Fitzpatrick has never started a playoff game.
