Where do the Miami Dolphins rank in the first quarter power rankings?
6. Pittsburgh Steelers (3-0)
After handling the New York Giants in week one, the Steelers beat the Broncos but had to erase a 10-point deficit to beat the winless Houston Texans. Weeks 6-8 will test whether the Steelers are real as they play Cleveland, Tennessee and Baltimore who are a combined 9-2 so far this season.
Preseason ranking: 20
7. Tennessee Titans (3-0)
I’ll admit that I wasn’t sold on the Titans to begin the season but you can’t argue with success so they had to move up. That said, the team is treading on thin ice. Their opponents each have only one victory and the Titans have been tied or trailed in every one of those games in the 4th quarter.
Preseason ranking: 15
8. Los Angeles Rams (3-1)
The Rams three victories have all come against the weak NFC East. In their lone loss, they showed ‘grit’ coming back from a 28-3 deficit to the Bills before losing on a late touchdown. Should they get more credit for coming back or blame for allowing themselves to fall into such a large hole?
Preseason ranking: 17
9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1)
Tom Brady has definitely shown the difference that a veteran quarterback can make to a team. The Bucs have reeled off three straight wins after an opening road loss to the Saints. A cause for concern? Brady’s sudden routine of throwing “pick 6” interceptions; having thrown two already this season. Is it something in the Tampa water?
Preseason ranking: 9
10. Indianapolis Colts (3-1)
After a surprising loss on opening weekend to the Jaguars, the Colts have reeled off three straight wins; including a 19-11 victory over the Chicago Bears last week. Indy will hope to further pad their record with games versus Cleveland and Cincinnati the next two weeks before they embark on a brutal 5 games stretch.
Preseason ranking: 21
