The Miami Dolphins will not have Kyle Van Noy today against the Jets.

Today, the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets will face off at 4:00 at Hard Rock Stadium but the Dolphins will be missing their top LB.

Kyle Van Noy will not take the field today and that will hurt the Dolphins against the Jets. Van Noy has been dealing with a groin injury that has kept him off the practice field this week.

The absence of Van Noy will be felt. He has been a consistent member of the Dolphins defense and one of the leaders. Miami will have Shaq Lawson back but Van Noy brings a lot more to the defense. With him out, there should be more playing opportunities for Andrew Van Ginkel.

Van Noy will join Jason Strowbridge, Malcolm Perry, Salvon Ahmed, and Jordan Howard. Howard for the second week in a row will be a healthy scratch and soon we should start wondering if the Dolphins don’t put him on the market at some point if they continue to leave him inactive.

For the Jets, Jordan Willis, James Morgan, and Nathan Shepherd are the names you probably don’t recognize but they will also be without Sam Darnold, CB Quincy Wilson, and LT Mekhi Becton.

Becton is a big loss for New York but Darnold? Maybe not. The Jets will play Joe Flacco against the Dolphins today. Flacco has not lost to Miami in the last seven games against the Dolphins.

Miami needs to get out to a big lead early to keep the Jets on their heels the entire game. If they can do that, Miami will be able to apply pressure to Flacco and cause turnovers.
