Round 3 Pick 84

University of Pittsburgh EDGE Patrick Jones II

Jones has been great this year for Pitt and another constant target on my mock drafts.

Over the past few weeks the Dolphins have gotten a lot from players like Emmanuel Ogbah and Shaq Lawson, but you can never have enough pass rusher and Jones brings that to the table for the Dolphins.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was able to move around freely against the Dolphins as the pass rush was not able to get there, but when they did it led to a fumble recovery for a touchdown. If the Dolphins allow mobile quarterbacks to move freely, it could lead to unnecessarily close games and more performances like Murray’s.

Jones brings a toughness and great pass rush instincts that could help the Phins from day 1 and adds a great rotational piece.

Round 4 Pick 122

University of Texas S Caden Sterns

The last Texas safety the Phins took has looked pretty good in his rookie season. Brandon Jones has been a great addition to the Dolphins defense and adding his former college teammate and secondary buddy could be a solid add for the Phins.

Sterns, a former 5-star recruit, has the talent, athleticism, and skill to make an immediate impact on both special teams and being rotated into the secondary. Sterns and Jones could end up as the Dolphins future safety tandem, but for now they can still be important for the team.

Eric Rowe and Bobby McCain have been great so far this season, but depth is valuable and Sterns will give that and more.
