6. Baltimore Ravens (6-3)

A close loss to the undefeated Steelers and a weather-aided loss to the Patriots allow the Ravens to only drop one spot in the rankings despite an average 3-2 record since the quarter mark. Being the second-best rushing team in the league is great but if Baltimore wants to have success going forward they need to improve on their 31st ranked passing attack.

7. Buffalo Bills (7-3)

I know Dolphins fans aren’t going to be happy with this ranking but I promised to be impartial. There isn’t much separating the two teams (statistically or in the standings) but, as of right now, the Bills get the edge. The Bills are 4-0 in the division while Miami is 1-2. While both of those division losses came in the first two weeks they are still division losses.

8. Miami Dolphins (6-3)

Next to the Saints (six wins in a row), Miami is the hottest team in the NFL right now. After starting 1-3, the Dolphins have delivered five straight victories. QB Tua Tagovailoa is getting important snaps but the team is undoubtedly being driven by their ferocious defense; which is 4th in the NFL in points allowed. The Dolphins are 3-1 versus the most competitive division in football (the NFC West) and have 3 relatively easy games and could easily be 9-3 before a brutal final month of the season.

Previous Ranking: 21

9. Arizona Cardinals (6-3)

After a very uneven first four weeks of the season, the Cardinals have been playing significantly better. 4-1 in their last five games include wins against the Seahawks and Bills and their only loss is a close defeat to the ‘red hot’ Dolphins. The Cardinals are top 10 in both points scored and scoring defense; proving they are a balanced team. With two games against the Rams and a matchup this week versus the Seahawks, the Cardinals control their own destiny in a very competitive NFC West.

10. Las Vegas Raiders (6-3)

The Raiders are appearing in the top ten basically off one victory; a road win versus the Chiefs. It’s true that they have also defeated the Browns and the Saints but they have also lost to the Patriots, Bills and Buccaneers. With upcoming games against the Chiefs, Colts and Dolphins the Raiders still have plenty of chances to show they are an upper-echelon team.
