Jaylen Waddle’s season ending ankle injury doesn’t ruin the Miami Dolphins interest in the Alabama wideout’s draft stock.

Pick 8

Alabama WR Jaylen Waddle

A blazing 40-time and a seemingly better than expected possession wideout, Waddle suffered the cruel fate that has plagued too many football players in a COVID-19 stricken year. A season ending ankle injury that will not allow him to finish his junior season at Alabama.

This injury, however, does not necessarily ruin his draft stock. The speedster was arguably the most talented wideout at Bama this season, and you could even argue that he was last season, a year that featured two first rounders in Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs, and another possible first rounder in 2021 in Devonta Smith.

Waddle would fit in perfectly between Devante Parker and Preston Williams, and the fact that he has a familiarity with Tagovailoa from their time in Alabama helps the pair as well. Many fans may want LSU wideout Ja’Marr Chase in this spot, but if he is off the board, then Waddle would be the Dolphins next best option.

Pick 17

Oklahoma IOL Creed Humphrey

A replacement for Ted Karras could come in the form of Humphrey, but if the Dolphins choose to extend Karras an extra year, Humphrey could still be great depth and the eventual future at the center position of the Miami Dolphins.

The last time the Dolphins drafted a center in the first round it worked out quite well, I really do wish Mike Pouncey was still with the team. Humphrey might actually be better than Pouncey was coming out.

It is not wrong to think that Humprhey is quite possibly the best offensive lineman to come out of Oklahoma, even with all the talent that has come out from Norman recently. Humphrey’s could be the final piece of the puzzle of the young offensive line and could help block for the next player to be taken in this mock.
