Aaron Jones could be the Miami Dolphins running back solution or just another setback.

There has been talk that the Dolphins could turn to Aaron Jones in free agency to fix their running back needs. Jones is an effective running back but is he elite? He is pretty close to becoming elite. He is young and effective.

For Green Bay is clearly the featured back and in Miami, there is no question that he would be the same. He has the ability to hit small holes for big games and has very good vision. He also can catch passes.

The Dolphins tried to add running backs in the 2020 off-season but it didn’t work out.

The good: Jones is a versatile runner that is effective in both the passing game and run game and can block. He understands the game and is one of the top runners in the league.

The bad: He has dealt with some minor injures that forced him to miss a game or two. He plays behind a better offensive line than the Dolphins currently have. He also should be looking at a $10 million a year contract.

Dolphins need: Definite need but the Dolphins might be better off looking to the draft and taking one of the elite runners for a fraction of the cost.
