Wilkins presence in the run game and pass rush makes him highly important to the Miami Dolphins.

2. DT Christian Wilkins

Behind Howard and kicker Jason Sanders, Wilkins is one of the most important Dolphins in 2020. His ability, leadership, and positive mindset seem to help this locker room in more ways than one.

The main one is in the run game. In his two absences the Dolphins run defense struggled heavily. Wilkins commands two blockers on most running plays and allows Baker, or any linebacker to have a free run.

That will be needed in a big way Sunday afternoon.

It is clear that the Chiefs want to run the ball, especially as the playoffs approach they would rather not seem super one dimensional, and could look at this Dolphins run defense as a chance of possibly jumping starting that part of the offense.

With so much being made about the passing game and getting to the quarterback, the offense could take advantage of that. Wilkins will have to play a key role in sealing off the middle of the line in order to prevent anything inside and force it all to bounce out or give the linebackers a shot.

With that being said, Wilkins will also have to play a huge role getting to the passer, but if he can continue to be a force on the run, the EDGE rushers will fare much better against the pass.
