Miami Dolphins add two Alabama studs in latest mock draft
By Pablo Rosero
The Miami Dolphins could be in the market for a new center this offseason and Humphrey’s is the best rookie at the position.
Round 1 Pick 21
Oklahoma IOL Creed Humphrey
The Dolphins are currently looking at losing center Ted Karras in free agency this offseason. Adding Humphrey could be the best replacement as he is the top center in the draft.
Even though the Dolphins added Karras and Eric Flowers this past offseason, I think the team should still add both Humphrey in the draft and add Brandon Scherff in free agency.
Humphrey has shown he is both stout in run and pass blocking and would have likely been selected in the first or second round of this past year’s draft. Adding him to the already very young offensive line, that features three rookies, and bringing in a Pro Bowl guard, could lift this team to having an elite offensive line once the team matures in 2021.
Since I believe the Dolphins can find an impact linebacker later in the draft, I felt as though taking a linebacker in the first didn’t make sense, but rather solving the biggest hole on the offensive line would.
Karas has done a good job for the Dolphins being a veteran leader and he should more than likely come back for another season. However, even if the Dolphins did bring back Karas for another year, Humphrey would bring depth along the offensive line and could become the starting center after a year under Karas.
