Harris could give the Miami Dolphins a ‘lightning-thunder’ duo when paired with second-year back Myles Gaskin.

Round 2 Pick 39

Alabama RB Najee Harris

Many believe that Harris will be gone in the first round, and while it is very possible, I’m not sure it will happen. As of right now, there are multiple running backs heeded for free agency including Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Jones and Seattle Seahawks’ Chris Carson.

Running backs are still not viewed as first-rounders, especially when guys like James Robinson can become undrafted gems for teams like the Jacksonville Jaguars. To me, Harris is the best back in this class and is worth drafting at this spot.

The lack of a run game was present on Sunday when all the Dolphins could garner was 80 yards off of 24 carries. Even though the game wasn’t one where the Dolphins really had the option to run, It would’ve opened the field more for the rookie quarterback.

Harris offers that special blend of power and speed in a 6’2” 229 Lbs frame. He is also an underrated pass catcher.

If the Phins are able to combine his abilities with that of Myles Gaskin as a pass-catcher, the team could have a special running duo behind their franchise quarterback.

Depending on how well Harris finishes the year, his combine numbers, and what happens in free agency, we will know where he’ll land and if it’ll take the second first-rounder, or possibly sliding up in the first.
