The former quarterback turned linebacker could benefit from an already stout Miami Dolphins defense.

Round 2 Pick 54

North Carolina LB Chazz Surratt

Surratt put up a 10 tackle performance in the blowout win over the Miami Hurricanes this past Sunday. That brought his total to 91 tackles on the season, with the team’s bowl game left to be played.

In his second season at linebacker for the Tar Heels, Surratt should once again eclipse 100 total tackles.

His high football IQ and nose for the football make him a very special player and one that Brian Flores would love in his linebacker room.Placing him in between Jerome Baker and Kyle Van Noy and behind Christian Wilkins, would be great for Surratt’s development and test his abilities right away.

Surratt is one of the few players that I have consistently targeted for the Dolphins as he is a player that I think would fill a massive need for the team. Adding another hard nosed football player, with the versatility to play multiple roles and with the football IQ to play each at a high level is extremely important.

In just two years, Surratt has proven he is the real deal at linebacker and should be viewed as a solid draft prospect rather than just a player with not enough tape to draft.
