Andrew Van Ginkel looks like a solid 5th round pick for the Miami Dolphins.

When the Miami Dolphins pick in 2019 was getting close, many hoped that Miami would have selected Chase Winovich in round three. He went one pick before Miami and the Dolphins settled on Michael Dieter. But in round five, they made up for it.

Van Ginkel has been an excellent mid-round linebacker for the Dolphins. Winovich has looked good in New England posting 43 tackles, an interception, and nine sacks. Van Ginkel missed most of his rookie season with an injury. He played in only six games in 2019.

So far through two seasons, Van Ginkel has been impressive. He has 3.5 sacks and 49 tackles. Not too far from Winovich who has a considerable more amount of snap counts. Van Ginkel also has a 75-yard fumble return for a touchdown.

Overall, like any players taken in the last two seasons, there is a chance that it doesn’t work out but Van Ginkel is making plays consistently on the field and will get better. He can start when the team needs him to and isn’t afraid of the challenge.
